In Case You're Really Interested in Learning More About Me
I have no motivation this week. Besides being a short week from Memorial Day weekend, I took tomorrow off for my cousins wedding. Three-day work weeks are pretty rad; I suggest you try them sometime.
I’m also slacking w/ my runs. I must’ve ran close to 30 miles last week, preparing for my race and then the actual half. Guess how many I’ve ran this week? 10? 15, you say? Well, I’m glad you have such faith in me. I’ve currently run....zero.
So I’m fresh outta motivation to do pretty much anything, even blog, when the beautiful Stephy over at the Backwards Bride tagged me in a post! My first tag! I have a confession to make: I don’t know what a tag is. I’ve never done a “link-up.” Or had a “guest post.” Or been “tagged.” Until now, that is! So forgive me if I don’t know how this works. I’m going to spice up the rules a little bit.
First, thanks, Stephanie! Go check out her blog. She has the most adorable little girl that will put a big smile on your face.
Second, if you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged! While my blog followers are ferociously loyal and incredibly good-looking, they are a rare breed. You might even note that I barely have 11 followers to tag back (some of who are my sisters that I made follow me who don’t have a profile. so they can’t really be tagged). So if you’re reading this - TAG, YOU’RE IT! (is that what all the cool bloggers say?) Also, if you’re reading this and don’t follow my blog, help a girl out and click the “join” button. Maybe next time I’m tagged, I’ll be able to do it right!

Answer the questions that the person that tagged you posted.
Create 11 new questions for the people that you tag.

11 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME
-My name is Brigid. Not Bridgette. Not Bridgit. Today alone I’ve had to spell it out more than four times. It’s really not an unusual name. If that doesn’t convince you to stick w/ the more “traditional” names for your kids, I don’t know what will.
-I’m only 5’2 but I’m taller than two of my sisters. We’re a vertically challenged bunch.
-I think I’m the only girl in the world who didn’t like Fifty Shades of Grey. Seriously, Ana stop biting your lip or I’m going to sucker punch you AND your inner goddess.
-I work as a receptionist. No, I’m not going back to school anytime soon. Yes, I’m content in this position. Get over it.
-I enjoy organizing and cleaning. Maybe this is why I like administrative work. I’m not on Monica Geller’s level...yet.
-You could cover cardboard in chocolate and I would eat it. I’d probably even enjoy it. I’m insanely jealous of people who don’t have a sweet tooth.
-I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life.
-I ran a half-marathon last weekend, but I still don’t consider myself a runner. I don’t have that token runners body and probably never will.
-I’m the youngest of four girls and my sisters are everything to me. They are the best friends I could ask for, and we have a crazy fun time whenever we’re together.
-Sometimes I think I swear too much. 80% of my swearing is done behind the wheel. They’re not called Massholes for nothing.
-I’m 25 years old and I was TERRIFIED to tell my parents that I was moving in w/ my boyfriend. That’s not how its usually done in the McCarthy family (can you tell by my name that they’restrict Irish Catholic?)
THE BACKWARDS BRIDE'S Q's:
1. What's the most wonderful thing about being a parent? (If not a parent, would you ever have kids?)
Yes! I’m still on the fence about when I want kids, but I’d love a big family some day.
2. What are three things you CAN'T live without?
Cheese.
Chocolate
Loved ones
(in that order. kidding. maybe.)
3. Did you ever have a bad habit or addiction that was hard to break? What was it?
I used to always stomp my foot when I got mad. Like, two-year-old temper tantrum style. Sometimes I still do if I get really heated. I’m working on it.
4. What are your favorite shows on TV?(Must add more to my DVR list)
Mad Men. Modern Family. Happy Endings. House Hunters. SVU.
5. What are your favorite reads?
Anything and everything. I keep meaning to blog about the books I’ve read. I like Jodi Picoult, Sophie Kinsella, David Sedaris. I'm always looking for something good to read!
6. Have you found your purpose in life yet?
I’m content at my current job. But I’ve served two years with AmeriCorps and always saw myself at a nonprofit doing work that really makes a difference. So we’ll see what happens.
7. What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?
If I ever lost touch with my sisters or B. They get me like no one else and I don’t know what I’d do w/out them! (yeah, I know, it’s cheesy)
8. What is your favorite type of exercise?
Tennis! I miss playing so much.
9. What is your most difficult hardship that you've overcome or are in the process of overcoming?
Moving to a new city on my own. I moved to Boston after graduation and never looked back. Except when I moved back to Syracuse for a year. But I think the hub and I finally get each other.
10. What is your biggest wish(s)?
For people to stop using the r-word casually. It makes me want to punch them in the face.
11. How do you know what being in love is?
When you’d rather sit around the house with them than go out b/c you know you’ll have more fun.
MY QUESTIONS:
-How often do you wash your hair? Seriously, I’d like to know how my hair-care regimen stacks up.
-Do you prefer sweets or salty snacks?
-If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what would it be?
-Where’s the coolest place you’ve ever been? Or want to go?
-Could you live w/out your cell phone? (if the answer is no, I don’t think we’d get along)
-What movie could you watch over and over again?
-Have you ever been on a cruise? What’s it like?! (I’m dying to go on one!)
-Cats or dogs?
-Do you believe in soul mates?
-If you didn’t need money, what would you do for the rest of your life?
-What’s your biggest pet peeve?
