I'd Like To Thank The Academy
Mallory at Finding my Inner Skinny Girl nominated me for the Sunshine Blog Award! Love it! Go check her out, she’s top-notch motivation.
Gosh, I have so many people to thank. God, my parents, my sisters, etc.
Although, technically, this blog is all about me, so scratch that, I’m taking all the cred! Damn, it feels good. This must be what winning an Academy Award feels like. Minus the dizzy spells from a week of starvation to fit into your gown.
I’ve never received one of these before (shocker), so bear w/ me. Here are the rules:
1. Include the award log either in your acceptance post or somewhere on your blog.
2. Answer 10 questions about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to 10-12 other deserving bloggers.
4. Add a link on your post to all of the talented winners and comment on their page to let them know they've been deemed amazing.
5. Thank the brilliant soul that recognized your talent and bestowed this wonderful award on you...and of course link back to them as well
So there you have it. My first blog award. Guess I’m big-time now. Here’s the Q&A so you can read all about my rise to fame.
1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
My temper. I’m erratically impatient and will go off on the smallest thing if I’m waiting for more than two seconds. I know – I’m working on it. Sometimes I feel like that scene in Beauty and the Beast when Lumiere and the gang are all “You must control your temper!” to the Beast (did I really just compare myself to the Beast? Yes, yes I did).
2. What is your theme song?
The Middle by Jimmy Eat World.
“Live right now. Just be yourself. It doesn’t matter if it’s good enough for someone else.”
3. One part of your life, a memory, action, etc. that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain?
Brain surgery seems a little dramatic, eh? Sure I have regrets, but I wouldn’t go poking around up there to remove anything. That’s a little too Eternal Sunshine for me.
4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
Mad Men era all the way. But I’d want to be a dude, for obvious reasons. Even Peggy doesn’t have it all.
5. What was your favorite childhood toy?
I had this squishy clown I called Clownie. My three-year-old self was brilliant.
Barbie, Little People (the wooden ones, not the plastic crap kids have today) and Don’t Spill the Beans! were top contenders.
6. What is your favorite housecleaning chore?
My sister and I bought this steam mop after seeing a demo at the state fair a few years ago. My mom told me how I spent way too much on it and would never use it. Jokes on her, b/c I LOVE that thing. You could eat off my floors.
7. Do you Twitter?
I use Twitter to see what my celebrity besties are up to. Obviously I’m one of Kim Kardashian’s and Lady Gaga’s 12 billion followers (I wish I was being sarcastic).
Follow the fun at brigibaby ; )
8. Any goals?
At 25 years old, I’m still comparing myself and my situation to everyone else’s. I need to tattoo “Life is not fair” on my arm b/c I’m constantly seeing things and thinking “no fucking fair.” And I need to stop comparing my life to everyone else’s – b/c mine is pretty fab.
9. Do you really drink margaritas all the time?
Tequila and I don’t get along; unless it’s Cafe Patron. Strangely enough, I LOVE margaritas. Frozen mango from Fajitas n’ Ritas is summer in a glass.
10. What is the ugliest car you've ever driven/were embarrassed to be seen in?
My parents had a station wagon pretty much my whole childhood. This was before minivans were mass produced like they are now. When I was younger, that backward-facing backseat was awesome. When I was in high school, not so much. Luckily, they swapped out before I took my drivers test. My sisters weren’t so lucky.
I don’t have many followers, but the ones I do have are awesome! I would award you all (it’s not that many more than 10), but I’m
Michele at My Life After Loss. She’s a friend of my sister and like a sister to me. She has two adorable kids (twins!), is training for a marathon, is a published author, and somehow manages to cook a delicious dinner for her family every night. But I promise, she won’t make you feel bad about yourself.
Brent at The Public Frog. Meet B. Before you think I’m just picking him b/c he’s my bf, let me set the record straight: I’m picking him b/c his blog has quite a few shout-outs to me. Maybe I should have picked vanity as what I’d most like to change about myself...
Kelsey at Miss Blondie. Hilarious. Gorgeous. Adorably sweet. Yet somehow, you can’t hate her. In fact, I love her and wish we lived closer so we could hang out.
Steph at The Backwards Bride. She has the cutest little family and such a great outlook on life.
Tess at Because I Want To. This girl is force to be reckoned with. Check her out for some fitness inspiration or for some nice words on living the life in CA.
Rachel at Dumb Blonde Diaries. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much reading a blog as I have at some of her “tutorials.” Great sense of humor AND style.
Jen at Hello Fitness, We Meet Again. This girl is a sweetheart and her blog is really cute. She’s a (relatively) new runner so go show your support!
Ashley at Ashley the Fashion Guru. I’m not really on the fashion forefront, but her blog doesn’t cater to high-end tastes. She always has adorable outfits to look at.
Marcia at Minus One Hundred. This girl is on a mission! She’s documenting her weight-loss journey and she’s so inspirational.
Tricia at Happily Ever Awkward. I can always count on her blog to make me smile. Or, more often, laugh out loud.
Thanks again to Mallory! Happy Hump Day to me!

LOVED that Beauty & the Beast comparison. I would be Chip hehehehe.
The Middle is my brother's ringtone when I call him!!!! :)
Hahahaha I can totally relate to #8. I'm constantly comparing my life to others, and wondering why I don't have Louis Vuitton luggage & a diamond on my finger.
Congrats to you! Thanks again :) :)
except you, BB = p
