Does the World Really Need Another Blogger?

Sure, why not? In case the web isn't saturated enough with the thoughts and minutiae of everyone else.

I've compiled a list of my favorite things to do, and therefore all the forums where I'll come up w/ fascinating blog posts:

Read – everything from “real” books to trashy celeb updates
Eat – pretty much anything; fish tacos notwithstanding (the name grosses me out)
Drink – booze, duh
Dance/zumba – I’m a girl. It wouldn’t be a weekend w/out me wanting to tear it up w/ my besties.
Run/workout (love/hate relationship here) – I’ve always hated running, but it’s pretty much the only thing that keeps my eating and drinking in check. If I don’t make it to the gym or go for a run at least four times a week, I can forget about ever getting the motivation to go again.
Rant – I can complain with the best of them, and I typically don’t get tired of hearing other people complain; as long as their complaints mirror my own, of course.

Essentially, my likes provide the basis for a multi-million dollar industry: women’s magazines. I minored in journalism in college before realizing that creative writers have all the fun. Journalism is a boring no-nonsense approach to news; I happen to like nonsense. And voicing my opinion. Which, unfortunately, is also a bit taboo in journalism (“a bit” being a loose term, depending on where you like to get your news from). After being rejected from countless jobs at newspapers, magazines and publishing houses, I resigned myself to the real world a.k.a. gave up all my hopes and dreams and found a 9-5 job that I don’t hate, but doesn’t allow me the creativity I crave. This is that outlet.

Plus, maybe it'll save me from having to listen to some of these stories (zing!)

I'm an aspiring journalist, too! Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. I'm a History major now, and am hoping to get my Masters in Journalism after I graduate. I hope I don't become disillusioned with it as you have. :( But if I do, it's okay -- I want to be a writer more than anything else, and if that outlet isn't necessarily journalism, it's okay.

I like your idea about us supporting each other in our fitness efforts. After all, finding people who have the same goals as you and can encourage you is part of what blogging is all about, right?
